Nanobots
Basicaly nanobots are microscopic robots. The project of nanorobotics is a very important one and prodution of nanobots doesnt seem to far off. But what are nanobots you might ask well basicaly they work and preform pre-programed, remote controled or use sensors to preform tasks like all other robots exept for one majour difference, the size. The bigest aim for nanobots is in the medical industry, to work inside humans, to serve as antibodies, to repair damages tissue, fight disease, and even rebuild/repair damaged organs. Some will be pre-programed, other will use remote control but the bigest aim will be for them to use sensors and eliminated lots of hard work.
The main advantage of nanobots would be their ability to last for years and continue working efficiently. They also said to be able to work very fast this would become especialy evident and important in emergency situations. Since they are programed/contorlled and may possibly use sensors they would eliminate alot of work from doctors and make their jobs a bit easier.
One disadvantage would be that a large number of them would be required to preform these tasks. This could prove costly and would contain alot of extremely difficult manouvouring to get them to area in the body where they are needed, this would create more hard work and potentialy eliminate the advantage of less work for the doctors.
The production of nanobots would revalutionise the medical world, but alot of hard work is still needed before they may be ready to be mass produced. All the faults must be worked out and many test prototypes will be constructed. But one thing is for sure and thats is once they are completed the world of medicine will never be the same, some diseases may be whiped out and alot of lives will be saved.
