February 23rd, 2008 by bjkrobotics

A. When was the first actual robot invented and used? The first robot to be created and programed by William Pollard and Harold Roselund, it was designed as a spray- pianting mechanism

B. The three laws of Robotics: The book writen by Isaac Asimov was called I, Robot and the 3 laws were; 1. A robot must never injure or harm a human being, or through inaction, alow them to come to harm. 2. Robots must obey all orders given to them by humans, unless the orders conflict against the 1st law. 3.Robots must protect their own existance as long as it doesnt conflict with the 1st and 2nd laws.

C. Zeroth Law: the Zeroth law states that robots must protect ALL humanity and not just individual humans. its called this becasue its before the first law (”0′th”)

D. When can a robot harm a human: The only circumsdance where a robot may harm, even kill a human is when preforming surgery. This is because the robot is trying to save the persons life and is technicaly not doing them any harm because they are sick in the first place.
